Since Mr George Stott opened his Johannesburg based blacksmith concern in 1911, the company has flourished, becoming one of the leading steel fabricators in South Africa
Geo Stott was established as a private blacksmith shop to supply to supply the ever growing need of the mining and heavy engineering industries developing around Johannesburg’s gold fields.
The Press and Forming Division established, which has been manufacturing and supplying a host of industries.
Between 1990 and 2001, several smaller overhead line hardware manufacturers were acquired, including Overhead Line Supplies ( Pty) Ltd and Crescom Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd, and the company became one of the largest suppliers of Line Hardware to utilities such as Telkom and Eskom.
MM&G Mining and Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd, a premier Heavy Structural Steel Fabrication and Engineering company was acquired. A further development was the introduction of a mine roof support manufacturing plant.
The Pole division was established, producing various types of street light, traffic signal and surveillance camera poles.
The Profiling Division was opened which specializes in plasma cutting and profiling projects. Having successfully completed various projects in previous years using green technology, the Foundation Solutions Division was also established, to offer industry sectors innovative and environmentally friendly solutions which would minimize the use of concrete.
George Stott acquired Diamond Components and Lock Systems, companies dedicated to the development and manufacturing of various products for the Motor industry.

Today George Stott operates out of three manufacturing facilities around Johannesburg, South Africa. We have completed contracts and supplied our products to various neighboring countries and further into Africa, as well as internationally.
George Stott and Company (Pty) Ltd is a multi-disciplinary manufacturer and project management company. The company’s head office is based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The company started trading in 1911 and is arguably one of the oldest operating steel fabricators in South Africa.
Over the years the company has grown from an open die forge shop to a multifaceted manufacturing entity with several manufacturing divisions and subsidiary companies which offer a comprehensive range of steel goods and related services.
